Note: This simulation is an ESTIMATE based on publicly available information; the official Buybox algorithm has not been disclosed by Trendyol.

Estimated result

Your odds of winning the Buybox (estimated)

44%

You're in the break-even zone: a small price or shipping improvement could tip the balance in your favor.

If you're losing the Buybox, your estimated monthly profit loss

₺1.800,00

Calculation: ₺30,00 unit profit × 100 monthly sales × ~60% (assumed share of sales shifting to the rival on a Buybox loss).

Price scenarios

  • Match the competitor's price: if you drop your price to ₺244,90, your odds rise to ~50%; your unit profit becomes ₺25,00.
  • Go 1 TL below the competitor: if you drop your price to ₺243,90, your odds rise to ~51%; your unit profit becomes ₺24,00.

What is the Trendyol Buybox?

The Buybox is the system that decides which seller the "Add to Cart" button links to when more than one seller offers the same product on a product page. Trendyol's algorithm weighs price, speed and service quality as a whole and picks a single winner. Because only a very small share of customers click into the "Other Sellers" list, the seller who wins the Buybox receives the vast majority of the orders coming from that product. Dozens of stores may sell the same product; only one is visible.

That is why the Buybox is the single most critical sales lever on multi-seller products: the difference between ranking first and being invisible often comes down to just a few liras on the price tag.

Which factors determine the Buybox?

Trendyol does not disclose the official formula; however, seller experiences and industry sources broadly agree on the following factors:

  • Price (the strongest signal): The most competitive offer by total cost including shipping stands out. But "the cheapest always wins" is not true — price is weighed together with the other criteria.
  • Seller score (~9.0 threshold): A score of 9.0 and above is considered the "trusted seller" threshold. A seller with a low score can be pushed back even while offering the lowest price.
  • Shipping time and operational status: A same-day / 1-day shipping commitment is a serious advantage. A seller whose operational status drops to orange/red can be pulled from the Buybox regardless of price. It is possible to beat a rival who is 1 TL cheaper but constantly ships late.
  • Stock: An offer that is out of stock or has fallen to a critical stock level cannot enter the race.
  • Cancellation and return rates: Supply-failure cancellations and a high return rate erode both your score and the trust signal in the algorithm.

An important recent development: the investigation opened by the Competition Authority in 2023 was closed in October 2024 through commitments offered by Trendyol. Under those commitments, using the automatic pricing mechanism was dropped as a criterion in the Buybox algorithm and the "Match the Buybox price" rule was removed. In other words, you do not need to feel obliged to use Trendyol's own pricing tool in the Buybox race — you can compete with your own repricing strategy.

What does losing the Buybox cost you?

The cost of losing the Buybox is not abstract — it is calculable. The common assumption is that on a Buybox loss ~60% and above of that product's sales shift to the Buybox owner. A concrete example:

  • Monthly sales: 300 units
  • Unit profit: 40 TL
  • Sales lost on a Buybox loss: 300 × 60% = 180 units → ~7,200 TL of lost profit per month

In the same scenario, suppose your competitor is only 5 TL cheaper than you: taking the Buybox back by cutting your price 5 TL means giving up 300 × 5 = 1,500 TL of margin per month — clearly a profitable move against a 7,200 TL loss. But this math does not give the same result on every product: on a product whose unit profit is already thin, a price cut can push you into a loss. The simulator above is built for exactly this comparison: it shows the effect of your price scenarios on both the probability and the unit profit, side by side. If you do not know your net unit profit, first work out your real profit including all deductions with the Trendyol profit calculator.

Winning the Buybox back automatically

The Buybox is a real-time race: a competitor changes their price overnight, stock status shifts, a new seller joins the list. Tracking it by hand across dozens of products is impossible; most sellers only notice they have lost the Buybox once sales drop — that is, days later. Every day in between is a measurable profit loss by the calculation above.

Verimle automates this loop: it continuously monitors the Buybox status of your products, alerts you as soon as it detects the loss, and with margin-protected automatic repricing keeps your price competitive — never dropping below the minimum profit floor you set. So you never have to burn your profit to win the Buybox back.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Trendyol Buybox?

It is the system that decides which seller the 'Add to Cart' button on a product page links to when more than one seller offers the same product. The seller who wins the Buybox receives the vast majority of the orders from that product; the other sellers remain in the 'Other Sellers' list.

What happens if several sellers list the same product?

Trendyol evaluates every seller's offer based on price, seller score, shipping speed and operational performance, and picks a single winner. Because very few customers click into the 'Other Sellers' section, most of the sales go to the Buybox owner.

How do I know I've lost the Buybox?

The fastest sign is a sudden drop in sales. To check for sure, open the product page in an incognito tab: if the seller name below the 'Add to Cart' button isn't you, you've lost the Buybox. In stores with many products this is impractical to track by hand; you need automated Buybox monitoring.

Can I win the Buybox without lowering my price?

Yes, it is possible. Price is the strongest signal but not the only criterion: a store score above 9.0, fast shipping (same day / 1 day), a low cancellation-and-return rate and a healthy operational status can offset a small price gap. If your competitor's operational status is poor (orange/red), you can win the Buybox even at a higher price.

What store score do I need for the Buybox?

The general consensus in public sources is that a score of 9.0 and above is the 'trusted seller' threshold. If your score is below 9.0, the algorithm may push you back even when your price is the lowest. The way to raise your score is to lower your cancellation/return rate, meet your shipping deadlines and respond quickly to questions.

Has Trendyol officially disclosed the Buybox algorithm?

No. Trendyol does not disclose the formula it uses to choose the Buybox winner. What is known are factors compiled from seller experiences and Trendyol's general communications: price, seller score, shipping time, stock and operational performance. The simulator on this page is likewise an estimation model based on this publicly available information.

Does using automatic pricing affect my Buybox chances?

Not anymore. Under the commitments accepted by the Competition Authority in 2024, Trendyol undertook that using its automatic pricing mechanism would not be treated as a criterion in the Buybox algorithm and that it would remove the 'Match the Buybox price' rule. So you are not required to use Trendyol's own automatic pricing tool to win the Buybox.

How much does losing the Buybox reduce sales?

The exact rate varies by product, but since the vast majority of customers use the 'Add to Cart' button, the seller who loses the Buybox is assumed to lose more than half of that product's sales (a common assumption is ~60% and above). The loss calculation in the simulator uses this assumption.

How accurate is this simulator?

Because the official algorithm has not been published, the simulator cannot give an exact result; it combines the known factors (price ~55%, score ~25%, shipping ~15% weight) in an intuitive model. Its aim is not to give an exact probability, but to show you which factor is holding you back and to compare the impact of price moves side by side.

Win the Buybox automatically without eroding your profit

Verimle monitors your Buybox status 24/7, alerts you as soon as it detects the loss, and with margin-protected automatic repricing keeps your price competitive without ever dropping below the profit floor you set.
