Unit profit is negative at the campaign price: at this discount rate every sale is a loss, and the total loss grows as sales volume rises.
At discounts above 14,1% the unit profit turns negative. The service fee stays fixed; shipping can change at the 200 and 350 TL bracket thresholds.
This is an estimate; it assumes the entire discount comes out of the seller's price. Verify current rates and campaign terms in your Trendyol panel.
Trendyol campaign math: how does a discount erode profit?
The relationship between discount and profit is not linear; a 15% discount cuts profit by far more than 15%. The reason is the structure of the deductions: because commission is calculated on the discounted (VAT-included) price, it falls along with the price, but the service fee and the product cost stay fixed. Shipping is usually fixed inside a price band but can change at the 200 and 350 TL bracket thresholds. As the price drops, these items eat into what is left of the profit. A concrete example: at a 450 TL sale price, 20% commission, 2 desi (volumetric unit) and a 180 TL (VAT-included) cost, the unit profit is 46.30 TL; at a 15% discount it drops to 1.86 TL, and it hits zero at about 15.6%. In other words, a "small discount" wipes out almost all of the profit on this product. You can see an item-by-item breakdown of the deductions in the Trendyol profit calculator, and find your package's desi with the desi calculator.
The break-even discount rate: how far can you go before turning a loss?
This is the simulator's most critical output: the discount percentage at which unit profit hits exactly zero. Below this rate every sale still leaves a profit (a shrinking one, but a profit); every point above it turns a sale into a loss. On low-priced products the threshold comes very early, because fixed items like shipping + the service fee already swallow a large share of the price. Knowing your own break-even rate before joining a campaign turns the question "where should I set the discount" from a guess into a number.
The volume-increase fallacy: the "I'll sell 3x more" math
The logic of a campaign is that higher volume offsets the drop in unit profit — but the multiplier you need is bigger than most sellers think. The rule is simple: required unit multiplier = normal unit profit ÷ campaign unit profit. In the example above, profit drops from 46.30 TL to 1.86 TL, so even the break-even point needs about 25x the sales; a 3x increase in sales actually lowers total profit on this product. The simulator shows the total profit and the difference for both scenarios directly, and calculates the minimum number of units the campaign needs to catch up to the normal scenario. For a full decision framework that also covers estimating sales volume, stock and Buybox, see the should-I-join-the-campaign guide.
Why is this simulator free?
Similar campaign simulators are offered as part of paid tiers in some seller software; at Verimle this tool is free and needs no sign-up. The campaign period is the truly risky one: with prices changing fast, margin becomes hard to track by hand. Verimle's margin-protected repricing and profit-tracking features fill exactly this gap — they hold the lower margin limit you set through price changes and alert you when they detect a product has turned into a loss.
Full desi rates use Trendyol's official July 13, 2026 tariff; public bracket amounts use a current secondary compilation because the official public PDF omits them. Campaign terms (discount sharing and extra support) vary. Verify all current figures and terms in Seller Center.
Frequently Asked Questions
When I join a Trendyol campaign, is the commission calculated on the discounted price?
Yes. The commission is calculated on the VAT-included sale price the customer pays; in a campaign, that is the discounted price. Your category commission rate does not change, but the lira amount deducted drops along with the price. The invoice is issued VAT-included, with no extra VAT added on top.
How do I tell whether I'm losing money in a campaign?
Subtract the commission, shipping + VAT, the service fee, the 1% withholding tax and the product cost from the discounted price; what is left is your unit profit. If it is negative, every sale is a loss and selling more units only grows the loss. The simulator above shows this calculation for the normal and campaign price side by side; the critical threshold is the break-even discount rate.
What is the break-even discount rate?
It is the discount percentage at which unit profit hits exactly zero; every point above it turns a sale into a loss. The service fee does not fall with price; shipping can change at the 200 and 350 TL bracket thresholds and is often fixed within a band. This is why the threshold can arrive sooner than expected, especially on low-priced products.
How many times more sales does a campaign need to make sense?
Rough rule: required unit multiplier = normal unit profit ÷ campaign unit profit. If your unit profit halves, 2x the sales only breaks you even; if it drops to a fifth, it takes 5x — and to actually increase profit you have to go beyond that. If the campaign unit profit is negative, no increase in units can save the campaign.
Who covers the discount — does Trendyol contribute?
It varies from campaign to campaign; the join screen states how the discount is shared and any additional conditions. This simulator assumes the cautious scenario — that the entire discount comes out of the seller's price. Verify the exact terms in the campaign details in your seller panel before joining.
